Philippine Tourism Delegation Discovers Konya

Konya Metropolitan Municipality continues to host tourism delegations from various countries to enhance Konya’s recognition and visibility on the international stage.


As part of a promotional program organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) and Turkish Airlines (THY), Konya Metropolitan Municipality hosted five travel agencies and two influencers from the Philippines, giving them the opportunity to closely explore the city’s historical and cultural riches.


On the first day of the three-day promotional program, the guests gathered at Çatalhöyük, one of the key stops of the tour and a site dating back approximately 10,000 years.


The Filipino agency representatives also visited the Çatalhöyük Promotion and Welcome Center, built by the Metropolitan Municipality, where they attended a meeting with tourism professionals from Konya to explore potential cooperation opportunities.


On the second day, the delegation visited Buğday Bazaar, the Historical Bedesten, Türbeönü Bazaars, the Historical Obrukhan Museum Hotel, Obruk Lake, Akyokuş Pavilion, and the Tropical Butterfly Garden. On the final day, they toured Karatay Madrasa, the Dar’ül Mülk Exhibition Palace, Alaaddin Mosque, the Meram Museum of Lifestyle and Culture, and the Japanese Park.


The Filipino guests shared their impressions of Konya, describing their experience in the city as truly exciting. They expressed their intention to promote Konya by sharing its beauty upon returning to their country and extended their thanks to Konya Metropolitan Municipality for the opportunity.
