Sille Dam Park: One of Turkey's Largest Parks

Sille Dam Park, one of Turkey's largest parks, draws thousands of visitors seeking respite from daily stress, offering a breath of fresh Sille air and a place to spend quality time with family.

This expansive park, now a prime attraction for Konya residents, features an array of recreational amenities, including a scout camp center, boat cruising area, kite hill, tea garden, restaurant, mosque, pier, wooden walking paths, grassy amphitheater, children's play areas, and sports facilities.

The Sille Dam, constructed between 1953 and 1960 on Sille Creek for irrigation and flood control, is a rock-fill dam with a volume of 320,000 cubic meters and a height of 39 meters above the riverbed. The reservoir, at normal water level, holds 3.10 million cubic meters of water and spans 0.20 square kilometers, irrigating an area of 260 hectares.

Covering 1,985,000 square meters, Sille Dam Park is one of Turkey's largest parks. Within it lies the Sille Himmet Ölçmen Dam, which has a surface area of 221,000 square meters and a maximum capacity of 2.5 million cubic meters when full.

Surrounding the dam are picnic areas, walking trails, children's playgrounds, and climbing courses. The park also offers camping areas for students and scouts, and visitors can enjoy boat rides on the lake.
