The German couple, who work at a private company in Germany, took a 5-month leave from their jobs to hit the road and see Turkey, a country they've been curious about.

The German couple expressed, "We love Turkish cuisine, and we had researched it beforehand and were excited about it. From Turkish pancakes to the wide variety of options in traditional Turkish breakfast, and from pide to lahmacun, we're enjoying everything. We saw wonderful photos of Lake Meke on social media, read about it in travel blogs, and decided to spend a night here. We love extraordinary natural phenomena; just being by the sea would have been boring. Although it was -3 degrees Celsius here at night, very cold indeed. But we were saddened by the fact that the lake was dry."
