Halkapınar is a distant district in eastern Konya, located 173 kilometers from the city center. Positioned at the northern base of the Central Taurus Mountains, the district covers an area of 362 km² and has an elevation of approximately 1,100 meters. It lies within the Taurus Mountain range, offering a unique and scenic environment.
Although Konya generally has a flat landscape, Halkapınar stands out as a mountainous district with rugged terrain. It is bordered by the Bolkar Mountains, part of the Central Taurus range, and the Southern Mountains to the north. The İvriz Stream and Delimahmutlu Stream flow between these mountain ranges.
Among Konya's districts, Halkapınar is unique in that it only shares a border with Ereğli and is situated at the crossroads of three provinces. To the north and west, it borders Ereğli; to the east, it adjoins the Ulukışla district of Niğde; to the south, it meets İçel province and Çamlıyayla district; and to the west, it shares a border with the Ayrancı district of Karaman. Notably, Delimahmutlu village in Halkapınar marks the easternmost point of Konya.
