Konya supports farmers with seedlings to boost income

Konya Metropolitan Municipality distributed 115,000 seedlings to be planted on 1,193 hectares of land in its 31 districts, for the purpose of increasing product diversity and ensuring rural development, for which it had previously received applications.

The support provided by Konya Metropolitan Municipality to farmers throughout the city continues to increase. Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur Ibrahim Altay stated that they attach great importance to agricultural support in order to increase rural development in the districts and raise the welfare levels of citizens in their living areas, following the New Metropolitan Law.

In this context, Mayor Altay emphasized that they continue to provide uninterrupted seedling and sapling support as the Metropolitan Municipality. Altay said, "We had previously distributed 115,000 grapevines, apple, walnut, chokeberry, blackberry, raspberry, and cherry seedlings to be planted on 1,193 hectares of land throughout Konya. In addition, we distributed 9,750 almond saplings on 194 hectares of land, 2,600 apricot saplings on 52 hectares of land, 112,000 thyme seedlings on 17 hectares of land, 30,000 sage seedlings on 10 hectares of land, and provided medical mint support with 72,000 seedlings in order to increase product diversity and help farmers earn more income in our 31 districts. We distributed our seedlings to our farmers. " he said.
