"Mevlevi Culinary Culture" Exhibition in Konya

Within the scope of the Turkish Cuisine Week in Konya, an event was held at the Mevlana Museum. The exhibition "Mevlevi Culinary Culture" was opened in the historical dervish kitchen in the museum.

In the exhibition, the utensils used by the cooks in the Mevlevi kitchen until the 18th century were exhibited.

Konya Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Abdüssettar Yarar said that they are trying to raise awareness for the Turkish Cuisine Week with an exhibition consisting of tools and equipment used by Mevlevi culture in the kitchen.

Stating that the Mevlana Museum was the main center of the Mevlevi sect for centuries, Yarar said, "In the kitchen of the sect, both food was cooked and the hearts of those who were candidates of Mevlevi and Sufi trainings were carried out. All of the workshops here are works that were used at that time. Currently, more than 70 works are exhibited."

The exhibition will be open until the end of the month.
