The Stone Building, Konya Digital Promotion Center, is a
window into the history of Konya. It mesmerizes visitors with both its content
and the architectural beauty of the building. At night, the Stone Building
becomes even more stunning...
The historical building, restored by the Metropolitan Municipality
of Konya and given the name "Stone Building," has gained great
admiration from both local and foreign guests. Serving as a digital museum that
sheds light on the city's history and attracts significant attention from an
architectural perspective, the museum transforms into a different identity at
night with its captivating lighting.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur Ibrahim Altay
emphasized that the Stone Building, one of the city's important historical
structures, serves not only as the mayor's office but also as a place where
visitors to Konya are welcomed. He highlighted that the Digital Promotion
Center sheds light on the city's thousands of years of history and culture,
emphasizing its significance.
Mayor Altay stated that the construction of the building began in 1917 by Architect Muzaffer and was completed in 1922. It served as the Girls' Teacher School for a considerable period of time. He continued, saying, "Later on, it served as the rectorate building of Selçuk University, making it a historic structure. Subsequently, the Metropolitan Municipality of Konya conducted its restoration and reintroduced it to our city. As the Metropolitan Municipality of Konya, we will host our guests here on behalf of the people of Konya. We have built a building where visitors to Konya can familiarize themselves with the city, along with our presentation center and museum."
The Stone Building, with its doors opening to Konya's past
and present, receives great attention.
