Konya: A City Bringing History and Culture to Life in Every Street

The Konya Metropolitan Municipality is continuing the restoration of the “Meydan Evleri*” and the construction of the “Velespit Museum.”

The Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Uğur İbrahim Altay, inspected the ongoing work at Kılıçarslan Square and provided statements regarding the current status.

Mayor Altay, stating that when the project is completed, Konya will transform into a city where history and culture come alive in every street, expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the project, emphasizing its significant contribution to tourism in Konya.

*The Meydan Evleri, also known as the Square Houses, are a group of traditional Ottoman houses located in the heart of Konya.

*The Velespit Museum is a new museum under construction that will be dedicated to the history of cycling in Turkey. The museum will house a collection of bicycles, cycling memorabilia, and exhibits on the history of cycling in the country.
