Selçuklu Protects its History

The restoration works initiated by the Selçuklu Municipality at the Hacı Ali Ağa Bath located in the historical Sille District continue uninterruptedly.

Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırcı said, “We will continue to keep Sille tourism alive with the work we carry out within the scope of loyalty to history.”

With the restoration works carried out by Selçuklu Municipality in Sille, which has a rich historical and cultural heritage, historical assets are being revived in accordance with their original form. It is planned to transfer these structures, which have survived to the present day, to future generations in the most accurate way, with the works that have made Sille an important center of attraction. In this context, the restoration works of the Sille Hacı Ali Ağa Bath, which has been initiated and has reached a completion rate of over 80 percent, are continuing meticulously. Sille Hacı Ali Ağa Bath consists of a construction area of ​​525 m2 on a land area of ​​726 m2. Once the restoration work on the basement and ground floors is completed, the building is planned to serve as a welcoming and tourism information office.

Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırcı said that “We have carried out many restorations, street rehabilitation and rehabilitation works in Sille, which has thousands of years of historical and cultural history. We continue to beautify and add value to Sille, one of the important tourism destinations of Konya's rapidly developing city, which is at the focal point of history. We have unearthed many historical buildings, especially religious buildings, and restored their historical identity through restorations up to now. With the completion of the meticulous work, this special building located at the entrance of Sille will be used as a "Tourism Information Centre" to contribute to tourism activities and will make very important contributions to us at this point. In addition, the centre will provide an exhibition area and a cafeteria where local and foreign visitors can have a pleasant time. We will continue our work to revitalize our cultural and historical heritage and pass it on to future generations, and we will protect this historical heritage.”
