The Mahkeme Bathhouse in Konya

Mahkeme Bathhouse is a significant historical and cultural landmark located in the heart of Konya. Built during the reign of Ibrahim Bey II in the 15th century, this ancient bath offers a glimpse into the city's rich past.

The Mahkeme Bathhouse, situated in the center of Konya, between the Şerafeddin Mosque and the Şems-i Tebrizi Park, is believed to have been built in the 15th century, during the Karamanoğlu period. 

The Mahkeme Bathhouse was designed as a "double bathhouse," with separate sections for men and women, extending in a north-south direction. The Mahkeme Bathhouse was constructed using both cut stone and rubble stone. The bathhouse underwent renovations in 1754 and, over time, its domes were replaced with wooden ones. The women's section features a pool with leaf-shaped spouts, while the men's section boasts a 3-meter diameter pool made of white and purple marble.
