Konya's Registered Dish: Pilaf With Violet
Pilaf With Violet, one of the special flavors of Konya cuisine, is a unique bulgur pilaf prepared with bulgur and green lentils. This traditional dish, which was registered and granted a geographical indication by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office on 01.10.2021, is served with violets.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups bulgur
- 1 cup green lentils
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Rinse and drain the green lentils. Boil them in water until they are slightly firm.
- Combine the cooked lentils, bulgur, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add enough water to cover the mixture and cook until the bulgur is soft.
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan and pour it over the cooked pilaf.
- Serve in a serving dish and decorate the edges with violets.
