The Konya Metropolitan Municipality Cycling Team added another success to its achievements.
The Grand Prix Apollon Temple UCI 1.2 Road Race, included in the 2026 calendar of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the Turkish Cycling Federation, was held in the Manavgat district of Antalya.
A total of 25 teams and 140 athletes from 31 different countries took part in the race.
In the race, which also featured the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Cycling Team that started the season strongly, young athlete Mustafa Tarakçı did not give up the competition despite a crash during the race. Tarakçı crossed the finish line in first place with a time of 2 hours, 49 minutes and 34 seconds.
Displaying an outstanding performance on the 124.5-kilometer course that started from the harbor of Side Ancient City, Tarakçı achieved a remarkable success by becoming the champion in both the Elite category and the U-23 category.
Uğur İbrahim Altay, Mayor of the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, congratulated the young athlete on his achievement. Mayor Altay also wished the athlete continued success and thanked all the coaches who contributed to this accomplishment.
