Meram Municipality Wins Award for AI Road Damage Project

The projects carried out by Meram Municipality, which simplify urban life through artificial intelligence–supported initiatives and advance confidently toward building not only today’s city but also the city of the future with a smart urbanism vision, continue to attract widespread attention.

As part of the Public Digital Transformation Summit organized by Kamu Bilişim Derneği, Meram Municipality’s AI-Powered Road Damage Detection Project received an award in recognition of its innovative approach and its concrete contributions in real-world applications.

In the sixth session of the summit, which focused on the effective use of artificial intelligence in smart cities, the real-world outcomes of digital technologies in municipal services were discussed.

Within this framework, Turgay Turhan, Head of the Information Technology Department at Meram Municipality, shared Meram’s digital transformation journey with participants through his presentation titled “AI-Based Road Damage Detection Project.”

Turgay Turhan also provided information on other digital initiatives launched in 2025, including call center analytics and above-ground waste container data analysis, highlighting Meram Municipality’s data-driven management approach.
